It is challenging to stand up and declare God is good when we go through difficult situation.
The situation you go through doesn’t change the goodness of God.
We have a true friend in Jesus
Malachi 2:10-17 to 3:5
When you go against God’s word or you don’t listen to him, there is a period of silence
We question God and always ask for justice but we have broken the Covenant through injustice
Malachi 3:1-5
People calling God evil, they asked for the God of justice and God said he will send them the messenger of the covenant that will prepare his way.
Luke 1:5-17, Matthew 11:1-10
Suddenly the messenger of the covenant will come. It talks about the second coming of Christ. It will come suddenly when people are not prepared

Preacher: Pastor Trevor

Are you dealing treacherously with your God?
Malachi 2:10-15
Dealing Treacherously means:
dangerous, unfaithful, Betray or likely to betray, by betraying someone confidence or trust

The book of Malachi begins with man questioning God’s love. However throughout the book God reveals that man’s love for him has gone dry.
Deutreonomy: 7:6
God commands us to destroy any abominations and not put them on the altar
1 Kings 11:1-4
Anything that is not authorized by God is strange and it will drive you away from God.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. The quality of you’re offering depends on the quality of your life
God is moved by your faith not your tears. Nehemiah 13:24-29
When we get strange things we don’t speak God’s language we speak a strange language.

Demonstration of God’s Love: Choice

Preacher: Bro. Joseph
Editor: Precious Adams

RECAP: Malachi means messenger
The book begins with God asking “I have loved you”
And the people replied “how have you loved us”?

If you come with a heart to desire God, he will always bless you with his presence. Seek him and he will be found
Shut the door on the things that takes you away from God.
Prepare yourself as you come into the temple of God
God only asks for what you have
Do not give defile offerings to the Lord for he will never ask for what you don’t have. Therefore, give your best.

Malachi Chapter 2:
Demonstration of God’s love is choice. God gives people a choice, that’s why there is heaven and hell. Heaven is not supposed to be a torture, that’s why hell is made. God will never force a decision onto you.

Honoring God’s name does not come by default. If you want to honor God’s name, you have to resolve ni your heart.
Focus on the blesser not the blessing, for he is the provider and he deserves the honor.

Numbers 25
Only when you resolve that’s when you will honor God’s name

This week I resolve to honor God in every area of my life

Living in a covenant relationship

Preacher: Pastor Neil Thomas
Editor: Emmanuel

In all relationship, we want to find someone who can anticipate what we need
Covenant is an agreement
Jonathan and David are an example of covenant.
1 Sam 18
Knitting means a God ordained event.
The exchanging of the robe is same as exchanging identity. When we receive Christ, we exchange identity with Christ.
We need to stay in line with the word of God so as to look more like God always.
As we become one with God, our emotions becomes secondary. It only comes thru the power of Christ

1. Change of robes: Identity
A. Change of name
Our old identity is changed when we are baptized
B. Change of Character
Ezekiel 11:19
The world tries to put labels on us but it doesn’t matter if we walk with God because our identity is Christ.
Sometimes we get confused by our thoughts but our thoughts doesn’t define our identity
Temptation is not the sin but acting on the temptation.
C. Examine our words
Psalm 35:28
If we live in the identity of Christ, let your yes be yes and No be No
Our words should be solemn in our oath
Grace is the ability that God gives us to live in his identity

Shut the door Part 2

Preacher: Pastor Trevor
Editor: Emmanuel

When the holy Spirit speaks, he brings conviction
We want to get deeper and closer to God. We want to get the best deal possible. We want the benefit but not the direction in which God wants us to go
Noah made the first Altar in the Bible
Every time God speaks to Abraham, Abraham makes an Altar.
God gave clear instructions about how his Altar should be built. When we take serving God as a job, rather than a privilege, it becomes a problem and this is the sad thing that happens in our Christian walk.
It is better to stop all pretense of worship than continue in Hypocrisy
How often we have come to worship and offered defiled worship. This is because we are not giving the best.
Do we blaspheme him by our pretense of worship?
Your worship is not for you to feel good but for God to feel God.
We don’t see worship important anymore. It’s not because God doesn’t love you, but you have lost your passion for God.
What kind of thought comes to you when your prayers are not answered.
Make up your mind. Don’t pretend to be who you are not.

Shut the door Part 1

Preacher: Pastor Trevor
Editor: Precious Adams

Don’t take the name of the Lord in vain for it is holy
Outline of Malachi
Privilege of the nation 1:1-5
Pollution of the nation 1:6 – 3:15
Promise for the nation 3:16 – 4:6

God has given the ways in which he should be worshiped not the way you would like to worship him
Malachi 1:6-14
God does not ask to offer what you don’t have. He asks for what you have. We need to give him the best of what we have
What is your purpose of coming to church?
We should come to church because of our love for God
Are you coming to church because you have to come or because you want to come?
Malachi 1:9
When you refuse to give God your best, it is a sin because you can give to the God and still insult him.
Is he the God who you give your leftovers to, or is he a God who deserves the best of your efforts and resources?
Malachi 1:10
Are you giving yourself as a living sacrifice or a dead sacrifice?
When Gods name is being defiled, we need to shut the door!
Make a stand and shut the door to all defilement
The holy ground is everywhere you go because the presence of the Lord lives in you
God’s grace is an enabling Grace not a permission to sin
Ask God what doors that are opened that needs to be shut in your life.
A tenth of whatever you earn belongs to the Lord.
Give God your best and he will treat you with favor.

Where is my Honor?

Preacher: Pastor Trevor
Editor: Precious Adams

God doesn’t like comparison. Our God is a jealous God
Malachi 1:6-8
Honor means reverence. Is the altar on which we offer our sacrifice defiled?
We are defiling God through his Altar
When the altar is polluted, the offering becomes unwanted
Leviticus 21:68, Leviticus 22:1-2,20-25
Everything given to God should be perfect, holy and not profane
1 Peter 2:9-10

The Altar is a sacred place for sacrifice. Altar represents a place of consecration.
Consecration means to make holy or to dedicate to God. It is sacred.
Altar is a place where man meets with God
Alter your Altar. Alter the defiled ways of your Altar
Romans 12:1
The father gave us his son and the son gave up his life for us.
How can we offer to God anything but our best?
When we offer to God, is it our best?
Are you tipping or tithing?
When we take God casually we become a casualty
